So I took a little break because of work, study, life etc that took over all of my time. This meant that I also didn’t manage to finish my World Cup of Dinners. This isn’t a problem, the lionesses are playing this summer, so I’ll see what I’ve already covered, see which dinners are outstanding and go from there.
The real draw for me will be the European Championships in 2024. The reason is simple, Europe is a continent of drinkers, so I should be able to source wine or beer, or both, for every country competing. It might be that there is a ‘national alcohol’, like a national dish, but that might mean choosing to source and drink that weird bottle of spirits you get on holiday that only comes out in emergencies. So that might not happen.
It may also present an opportunity to enjoy some favourites from earlier, but what I’m most looking forward to is gorging myself on pizza and pasta, Italy’s men didn’t qualify for 2022, but the ladies have, so I’m looking forward to that a great deal.
